Ptl. R.M. Nichols

Patrolman Robert M. Nichols was born on July 16, 1976 at St. Joseph Hospital. Bob was raised in Parkersburg WV. He joined the Vienna Police Department on July 16, 2001 (his 25th birthday). Before his career in law enforcement, Nichols worked for Industrial Cleaners, a family business.

Bob graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1994. After high school, Nichols received his associates degree in Criminal Justice from West Virginia University-Parkersburg (1996) and his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Ohio University (2000). On April 19th, 2002 Nichols graduated from the West Virginia State Police Academy as a member of the 113th Basic Officer Training Class. Nichols' lifelong career goal was to become a police officer.

Bob is currently assigned to the Vienna Police Department patrol division working day watch. In his spare time, Nichols enjoys hunting and going to the beach. On 10-28-05, Nichols completed DARE Officer Training in Westlake Ohio as a member of 53rd DOT class. Nichols will be teaching the DARE curriculum at all three elementary schools in the Vienna school district. Nichols looks forward to serving his community in this capacity.
